Old Mirage IIIC model this time in black and white photo look.

Opened that model again and did that image because an old render did the cover of the « Fana de l’Aviation » magazine special issue on the Mirage III.

It’s in fact a modification of render #548, turned 90° , the original was much too dark for a cover so it was very much brighten, + some small touch-ups here and there…

And again, for non-commercial and only personal use of course.

Ok, well, i’ve always dreamed of making a good aviation film…Imagine that .I don’t have much talent for animation, but i’ve tried a short anim with my old MiG and Mirage models. Learned AfterEffects, Maya dynamics/particles… ect for that. Very slowly as usual. that’s what i’ve been working on from time to time during the past month. Originally wanted it to be longer, with some lo flying and fighting over the desert, but eventually got tired of it. So decided it was finished after the first two kills… So time to update that poor neglected blog .

It was fun, specially with AE, Playing with lights effects and all. learned a lot also in Maya.
Doing the music with GarageBand was fun too.

The last scenes/renders are in fact of much better quality than the first ones, cause i learned along the way.
Still , it’s very far from perfect. Specially the planes movements… But i’m satisfied with the look.
Render time took ages with scenes with a lot of particles (fire and explosions …) , in 30fps at 1080HD resolution.
Changed computer during the course, now a MacBook Pro 17  » 2.4 GHz i7 , much faster. The last 17″ MacBook model, seems Apple will not do 17″ laptop anymore… :( Until an eventual retina 17″ screen price drops significantly maybe.

So this is a kind of follow-up of these « Miroir, mon beau miroir » images…
It’s from the bunch of renders i did at the time, but didn’t set in a scene properly…
Now it’s done for that one at least .
Still continue with that old 60-70′s washed colours photo look that i like a lot.

The second plane in the background is Shahak N°45 (here in fake number « 745″).

From 117 Sqn « First Jet », in 1967-68. Credited with three kills, a Iraqi Hunter, a Iraqi MiG-21 and a Lebanese Hunter.

Note learned since that it’s not the exact correct type of helmet and mask used by israeli air force during that period… it should be a french type mask Ulmer A-13 with US helmet HGU-2A :/ I think these i’ve done where used later. Bahh…

Well i’ve not been very active these last weeks… but anyway here my first 2011 image.
Still working on that Spook model, very slowly, nothing much to show…Seeya later, and all the best 2011.

So, a new livery for that Mirage model of mine. Jet fighters enthusiasts will recognize a very famous one.
As usual done a bunch of renders… not very spectacular, no fights.. just like photo sessions during some flights.
